Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what plans he has to ensure weddings can recommence once covid-19 infection rates have declined.

Weddings by their nature bring lots of people together in a single group and are highly social and therefore particularly vulnerable to the spread of COVID-19. Through vaccination and testing we hope over a period of time to increase the number of attendees when the scientific evidence shows that it is safe to do so.

The Minister for Small Business, Consumers and Labour Markets at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is planning to meet with the UK Weddings Taskforce.
