Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to the Prime Minister’s answer to Question 76 in her oral evidence to the Liaison Committee, on 27 March 2018, whether the planned multi-year funding settlement for the NHS will also apply to the social care sector.

The Department is clear the forthcoming Green Paper on social care is the right vehicle for considering how to ensure long-term sustainability for the social care system. This work was moved back in the Department to ensure alignment as the long term sustainability of the health and care system will rely on local Government, the National Health Service and central Government acting to integrate services around people’s needs.
