Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how much funding has been allocated from the public purse to HMRC to implement the Customs Declaration Service.
HMRC has been provided with sufficient funding to undertake the work required on the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) to date. By the end of March 2018, HMRC had been allocated and spent £104 million. Funding for future years will come from a mixture of 2015 Spending Review funding agreed by HM Treasury for CDS and funds allocated to HMRC to ensure the department is prepared for exiting the European Union.
