A range of technical information is required as part of the Department's procurement process for equipment. This may include, for example, technical publications, operating and systems manuals to ensure that equipment can be safely operated, maintained and configured through life.

The contract for the Boxer procurement contains provisions for technical data packages and for Ajax includes Interactive Electronic Technical Publications for all Ajax variants.

The purchase of 14 new Extended Range Chinook and 50 Apache AH-64E helicopters is being made through Foreign Military Sales (FMS) arrangements with the US Government. The FMS cases include the provision of technical publications and services.

Typhoon procurement is delivered through the collaborative international Eurofighter programme between the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain; the UK has taken delivery of all its Typhoon aircraft. The procurement and support contracts include provision of the necessary technical information to support operation, maintenance and configuration of the aircraft through life.
