Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what steps he is taking to support businesses directly affected by the sale of Network Rail’s commercial property business.

There are many small, diverse, independent businesses that occupy Network Rail’s property.

Once the business is sold, all current leases will transfer to the new buyer and all lease arrangements and protections will be unchanged. At the time the sale was announced, Network Rail wrote to all tenants about the sale and continues to engage with them on any issues or enquiries they have.
