My Rt. hon. Friend the Prime Minister has announced a five-year funding agreement which will see the National Health Service budget grow by £20 billion by 2023/24. This will deliver an average annual growth of 3.4% over the next five years. The Government will work with the NHS to develop a ten-year plan setting out how the money will be used for the future of the health service.

The ten-year plan will get the NHS back on the path to delivering agreed core performance standards, and drive the reforms that will deliver a better and more sustainable NHS.
