Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether she plans update the shortage occupation list.

As set out in the letter to the Chair of the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) dated 24 August 2022, the Government does not intend to make any changes to the provision for care workers and there is no expiry date in the Immigration Rules. They will continue to be eligible unless the Government decides to remove them from the Shortage Occupation List in future.
