Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, whether it is his Department's policy to prohibit (a) officials and (b) ministers from using the TikTok app on their (i) work and (ii) personal electronic devices.

Departments are required to manage all applications and services on their networks, taking into account security and data protection risks.

Authorisation and approval for the use of any individual application is subject to Departmental security policies and procedures. With regards to the threat to national security His Majesty's Government does not comment on these matters.
