Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether he has made a recent assessment of the potential merits of using (a) wearables, (b) digital watches and (c) other devices to provide data to help patients manage their ill health.

Both the Department and NHS England have regular conversations with tech companies with regards to the potential for developing and using digital tools including wearable devices. NHS England has been or is currently involved in work that uses wearables to support conditions including Parkinsons, cardiac rehabilitation and diabetes.
