Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many Afghan interpreters were employed by the UK Government during the past twenty years.
This question was answered on 22nd June 2021
From the available data held between the years 2001 - 2014 the number of Afghan interpreters employed by the Ministry of Defence was 2,821.
We are unable to provide figures for other Government departments who have employed Afghan interpreters.
