Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to his Department’s consultation entitled NHS Pension Scheme: proposed amendments to scheme regulations published on 5 December 2022, when his Department’s response to that consultation will be published.

The Department published its response to the consultation on amendments to the NHS Pension Scheme on 7 March 2023. This is available at the following link:

Overall, the proposed changes were well received and most of the respondents agreed that they should be implemented. The Department therefore intends to proceed with the proposals it set out.
