Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the cost to the public purse has been of the electrification project between Church Fenton and York.

The £317m funding announced on 26^th May 2021 will not only deliver electrification and upgrades including track enhancements and improvements to signalling on one of the busiest stretches of track in the North. It also enables further design and development work for the broader programme, which will build a more reliable railway, with more capacity and better connectivity.
