Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether he has plans to allocate grant funding for the recruitment of additional vets to maintain animal welfare standards after the UK leaves the EU.

There are no plans to allocate grant funding for the recruitment of vets. Defra continues to work in partnership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, British Veterinary Association and others to ensure that the UK maintains a sufficient and well-qualified veterinary workforce, particularly as the UK prepares to leave the EU.
