Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, how much local authorities in England spent on homelessness services in each year since 2009-10; and how much of that money was spent on temporary accommodation.

The Department publishes data on local authorities’ revenue expenditure and financing. This includes spend on homelessness and temporary accommodation categories in table RO4 of individual authority outturn data. Data is provided to the Department by local authorities and can be found for years since 2007-08 at: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/local-authority-revenue-expenditure-and-financing.
