The complexity of the English Housing Survey and the requirement that data meet rigorous National Statistics standards means that there is a gap between data collection and publication. We have recently taken steps to reduce this gap, resulting in the publication of the 2016-17 headline report in January 2018. In previous years, the headline report has been published in February or March.
