We are providing over £30 million to City of London Police over the next three years to refresh and upgrade the Action Fraud service.

Improvements are being made on an ongoing basis, with the new service expected to be fully operational by 2024. The upgrade will improve the support services and reporting tools for victims, provide greater intelligence to policing for investigations, and allow for greater proactive disruption of fraudsters at scale.

The Government is also increasing law enforcement investigative capacity to tackle fraud. The Spending Review has allocated £400 million to tackle economic crime, including fraud.

This is in addition to the funding that the Home Office commits each year to the National Economic Crime Centre in the NCA, and police forces.
