There are a wide variety of evidence-based treatments available for people with mental health conditions, according to the clinically assessed need of individual patients.
Specialist treatments are offered in a range of mental health settings, including services commissioned by local clinical commissioning groups and national specialised mental health services commissioned by NHS England and NHS Improvement. These services are monitored to ensure quality of care and assess the adequacy of availability.
