Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many and what proportion of offenders who breached their post-sentence supervision subsequently appeared before a court in the latest year for which information is available.

This information could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. This report found that almost all recall decisions were good, and that recall was handled appropriately. Public protection is our priority and offenders on licence are subject to a strict set of conditions, which may include preventing them from contacting their victims and excluding them from certain places.

Those who fail to comply can be immediately recalled to prison, however, the aim is always to support offenders to complete their licence successfully.
