Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, how many staff (a) are employed directly by (b) are seconded to and (c) work under contract to his Department.

As of 31 August 2018, the Department employed 2115 or 2063.6 full-time equivalent staff (fte) in either a directly employed, inward interchange, or contingent labour basis, broken down as follows:

  1. Directly employed – 1960 staff / 1911.5 fte, of which;

    1. 1862 / 1815.8 fte are currently on payroll

    2. 98 / 95.7 fte are on unpaid leave of absence

  2. Inward interchange – 112 staff / 109.1 fte, of which;

    1. 75 / 73.3 fte are employed on inward loans

    2. 37 / 35.8 are employed on inward secondments

  3. Contingent labour – 43 staff / 43 fte
