Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to his Department’s press release entitled Government and health unions agree pay deal paving way for an end to strike action, dated 16 March 2023, what source of funding his Department plans to use to fund that pay offer.

The Department and HM Treasury are working together to ensure the Department has the money it needs to fund the pay offer. The offer will be funded through a combination of new money for the Department and reprioritising existing budgets. There will be no impact to frontline services or the quality of care.
