Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what estimate his Department has made of the cost to the public purse of the commitment set out in the victims strategy to improve the court environment for victims of crime.

We have published the first cross-government Victims Strategy that makes clear our commitment to better support victims and witnesses during the court process. Improving the court environment for victims will be progressed as part of the Government and judiciary’s £1bn reform programme to transform our courts and tribunals system.
