Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, whether he plans to provide a progress update on implementation of the North Sea Transition Deal ahead of the COP26 summit in addition to the scheduled reporting in March 2022 as outlined in that Deal.

We will provide progress updates on the implementation of the North Sea Transition Deal to the North Sea Transition Forum in both April and October 2021, ahead of COP26. The North Sea Transition Forum is hosted and chaired by the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) and is the tripartite body which provides senior government and industry leadership for the offshore oil and gas industry. It is attended by ministers and officials from both the UK and Scottish governments, trade unions, regulators and senior representatives from the upstream oil and gas industry.
