Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to the Answer of 11 January 2023 to Question 117889 on Alcoholic Drinks: Misuse, what assessment he has made of the implications for his policies of the evidence published by Public Health Scotland and The Lancet on 21 March 2023 on the impact of alcohol minimum unit pricing on deaths and hospital admissions attributable to alcohol consumption.

The Government maintains an interest in the impact of minimum unit pricing in Scotland and looks forward to seeing the findings from the final evaluation. We will consider those findings in detail once available.
