Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what is his Department's most recent estimate of the expected level of inflation at the end of 2023.
The independent Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) are the government’s official forecaster.
The OBR published its most recent economic and fiscal forecasts in March 2023, when they expected CPI inflation to fall to 2.9% at the end of the year, dipping below the 2% target in 2024, before moving sustainably to target by the end of the forecast.
