Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many recorded violent incidents by type there have been in the prison system in each month since May 2010.

Statistics for assaults by type are published quarterly in Table 7 of the Safety in Custody statistics bulletin. This is available at the following link:

Monthly statistics for assaults are not published, as they would not show any clear indication of trends.
