The UK regularly engages with the Brazilian Government, indigenous community leaders, and civil society to promote and support human rights. Our Embassy in Brazil is in regular contact with Brazil's Ministry of Indigenous Affairs. The Foreign Secretary visited Brazil in May and witnessed first-hand Brazil's efforts to tackle organised and environmental crime in the Amazon and its impact on indigenous peoples. The UK supports these efforts, including through the UK - Brazil Partnership on Green and Inclusive Growth, which the Foreign Secretary signed during his visit, and which includes measures to help strengthen the socio-environmental rights of indigenous peoples.
