Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the conclusions of the Senior Coroner’s Prevention of Future Deaths report following the Plymouth mass shooting, whether she plans to order Chief Constables in England and Wales to carry out an urgent review of cases where a person currently holds a gun which has been returned to them after an earlier refusal or seizure by the police.
We are carefully considering all of the recommendations that the Senior Coroner for Plymouth, Torbay and South Devon made in his Prevention of Future Deaths Reports to the Home Secretary, following the Inquest into the shootings that took place in Keyham, Plymouth on 12August 2021, and will respond to all of the recommendations made to the Department as soon as possible.
