Railways: Tickets

Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer to Question 193004 on Railways: Tickets, whether he instructed Train Operating Companies to consult on ticket closures; and whether Train Operating Companies are able to consult on closing ticket offices without seeking Ministerial approval under passenger service agreements in place.

There are agreements between the Department and train operators on different areas to ensure that services can be delivered in a safe, secure and efficient way for the benefit of customers and the taxpayer. It is for industry to bring forward proposals as to how to deliver that.
