Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many books were bought by prisoners through the earned privileges scheme in each of the last five years.

Information on the number of books bought by prisoners is not held centrally and would need to be collated through enquiries at each prison in England and Wales. This would incur disproportionate cost.
