Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the evidential basis is for his statement made on 3 October 2023 that local authorities were planning to use CCTV to restrict people’s movements.

I refer the hon lady to the plans, supported at the time by Labour councillors, to introduce restrictions on roads in Oxfordshire, which, enforced by ANPR, would allow residents a limited allocation of days to drive down certain roads in the area.
