Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many offenders convicted of murder were held in open prisons in each of the last 20 years.
This question was answered on 30th June 2014
It is not possible to provide the total number of offenders serving life sentences who were held in open prisons in each of the last 20 years, or the total number of offenders convicted of murder who were held in open prisons in each of the last 20 years, without incurring disproportionate cost.
