Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what the average retirement age was for teachers in each of the last five years for which figures are available.
This question was answered on 3rd July 2014
The average age at which teachers in publicly-funded schools in England drew their retirement benefits in every year between 2008-09 and 2012-13 was 59.
