Remand in Custody

Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, with reference to the Answer of 13 May 2014, Official Report, column 504W, on remand custody, how many defendants were proceeded against at magistrates courts in England and Wales by remand status, offence groups and sex in (a) 2011 and (b) 2013; and what proportion of the total number of defendants charged with the relevant offences those figures represent.
