Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what recent steps he has taken to ensure close combat soldiers are given the highest quality clothing for their future activities.

The Ministry Of Defence takes all measures possible to ensure that the clothing issued to service personnel is both right for the job and right for them. The range, quality and versatility of the clothing we issue to our troops is far greater than it has ever been and we are continually working to make further improvements. Additionally, we apply rigorous technical specifications and quality standards; these are reviewed regularly to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
