The case of Weller v Associated Newspapers Ltd [2014] EWHC 1163 was a civil action in relation to the tort of misuse of private information as it applies to children. As the case illustrates, it is already possible for a civil action to be brought to protect the privacy of children. The remedies available include damages for the breach of privacy and an injunction to prevent any further publication. The Government has no plans to change the law in this area.
