Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what the reasons are for the 75-year embargo placed on government-held files relating to the Guildford Four; and if she will consider releasing them earlier.

There is no embargo on government-held files relating to the Guildford Four. Public release of such information retained by government departments or held closed at The National Archives is determined in line with the provisions of the Public Records Act 1958.
