Sentinel Aircraft

Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether the upgrades to the Sentinel R1 aircraft will include the ability to collect and process (a) magnetic anomaly and (b) bathymetric data.

I refer the hon. Member to the answers I gave on 1 September 2014, (Official Report, column 103W), to him and to the hon. Member for North Durham (Mr Kevan Jones). I am withholding technical details of the upgrades as their disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the capability, effectiveness or security of the Armed Forces.
