Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what recent discussions he has had with the Home Secretary on the provision of non-UK labour to staff the poultry meat industry after the UK leaves the EU.
Whilst the UK prepares to leave the EU, Defra is working closely with the Home Office to ensure that there is a long term strategy for the food and farming workforce, including the poultry industry, as part of the future immigration policy.
The Immigration White Paper, published by the Home Office on 19 December 2018, sets out the foundation for a single skills based immigration system.
