Joint Cyber Reserve

Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what the monthly targets are for recruitment to the Joint Cyber Reserve Unit in each month since September 2013.

Recruitment for the Joint Cyber Unit (Reserve) began in October 2013 and is on track to deliver the Cyber Reserve within the next 18 months. Individuals recruited so far include those from the private and public sectors. I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on 24 March 2014 (Official Report, column 56W) to the hon. Member for Makerfield (Yvonne Fovargue). Specific details of the capability are being withheld for the purpose of safeguarding national security.
