Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, which (a) individuals, (b) companies and (c) other organisations receive Christmas cards from his Department.

This information is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.

However, I can say that no Ministers sent out Christmas cards at tax payers expense.

The Permanent Secretary tells me he sent 35 Christmas cards to civilians serving overseas on operations at Christmas. He paid for the cards personally and sent them through the internal Ministry of Defence mail.
