Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what representations she has made to the European Commission on publication of its communication on Building a Sustainable European Food System.

The Government responded to the consultation which closed in October 2013 and welcomed the aims and objectives of the Communication on Building a Sustainable European Food System to improve actions to achieve a more sustainable food system across Europe.

Defra officials worked closely with the Commission and other Member States on the content of the draft communication.
