Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what the length of time required is for a (a) medical and (b) care organisation to respond to a request for information by a Care Commissioning Group in relation to a continuing healthcare application.

The National Framework for Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care October 2018, states that after a clinical commissioning group (CCG) receives a positive checklist they should in most cases make the eligibility decision within 28 calendar days. CCGs are responsible for setting their own time periods for each ‘stage’ of the process including notice periods to families and timeline expectations from third parties regarding requests for information.
