Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether there is a minimum period of notice given to families of those being given a continuing healthcare assessment to ensure they have adequate time to attend the assessment.
The National Framework for Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care October 2018, states that after a clinical commissioning group (CCG) receives a positive checklist they should in most cases make the eligibility decision within 28 calendar days. CCGs are responsible for setting their own time periods for each ‘stage’ of the process including notice periods to families and timeline expectations from third parties regarding requests for information.
