Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to Answer of 11 February 2019 to Question 219357 on HMS Queen Elizabeth: Deployment, what the full range of capabilities are that will be available to the Maritime Task Group.
While the precise composition of a Maritime Task Group would depend on operational circumstances at that time, we will be able to draw from a range of modern and highly capable vessels, such as the Type 45 Destroyers, Type 23 Frigates, the Astute Class submarines and, in the longer term, the Type 26 Frigates.
For operational security reasons, we do not comment on specific capabilities as this would, or would be likely to, prejudice the capability, effectiveness or security of the Armed Forces.
