The figures for Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) direct research and development expenditure are published in its Annual Report and Accounts as follows:

2009-10 £11m1

2010-11 £4.7m

2011-12 £4.9m

2012-13 £5m

2013-14 £5m

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority provides funding to its sites on an annual basis, but does not separately record site expenditure on research and development.

1 The 2009-10 figure is based on a wider definition than subsequent years, and includes R&D expenditure by the NDA’s Radioactive Waste Management Directorate (RWMD). NDA R&D expenditure in 2009-10 excluding RWMD was £5.9m.
