The Health and Social Care Information Centre latest monthly workforce statistics show that there are now over 7,500 more nurses, midwives and health visitors working in the National Health Service than May 2010.

The attached table shows the number of nurses, midwives and health visitors and separately the number of acute, elderly and general nurses in each NHS region in each Agenda for Change band since 2009.
