Planning Authorities: Pay

Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the Answer of 18 December 2024 to Question 18959 on Planning Authorities: Staff, whether she plans to provide funding for the ongoing salary costs of the 300 new planning officers in the 2026-27 financial year.

The government is committed to supporting local planning authorities. Any budgets and associated salary costs beyond 2025-2026 will be determined in the forthcoming Spending Review.
