Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what proportion of children in custody were held on remand in each year since 2010.

The table below sets out the proportion of the average monthly custodial population of under 18s who were on remand for each year from 2009/10 to 2017/18:

2010/11 | 26% |
2011/12 | 24% |
2012/13 | 22% |
2013/14 | 21% |
2014/15 | 23% |
2015/16 | 22% |
2016/17 | 21% |
2017/18 | 24% |
