All privately-managed prisons provide general management information, which will include references to staffing levels. It does not include figures on number of staff employed, or staff at work on any particular day. The Ministry of Justice responds to Freedom of Information requests in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the guidance issued from time to time by the Information Commissioner’s Office. Any information the Ministry holds in relation to privately-managed prisons would be assessed for commercial sensitivity. We do not, however, collect statistics on staff employed or deployed by privately-managed prisons.
