Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what estimate he has made of the cost to the public purse of wages paid to suspended prison officers whilst under investigation in each of the last three years.

We are unable to provide an answer. Data on suspensions is held separately to the data held on conduct and discipline and it is not possible to link them together. This would be necessary to provide an answer.
